My protocol for everything:

If it’s irrelevant, discard it. If you can handle it in less than two minutes, do it. If someone else can handle it, delegate it. Otherwise, divide it into parts and defer each part to a specific place on your calendar.

This framework for handling tasks is not original with me, but it’s probably the second most important concept I follow, after “bit by bit does the trick.”

I’d also note the entire process can be summed up as “The One D” . . . be decisive.
